Chaplain and Advisor
Laura is an Episcopal priest, and she served churches in Alaska and Mississippi before being called to campus ministry in Harrisonburg. All aspects of ministry bring her joy, and campus ministry is her passion. She is married to Russell, a Coast Guard veteran. They have 3 adult sons. She enjoys gardening, baking and road trips.
Katie deForest (she/her)
Senior Warden
Katie is a Junior kinesiology major with a pre-physical therapy minor. She loves spending time with her friends, reading, and exercising in her free time. She is so happy to have joining the vestry at Canterbury!
Abby Eastman (She/Her)
Junior Warden
Abby is a sophomore architectural design major with an art history minor. She enjoys spending time in nature and with friends. She loves Canterbury because it's such a welcoming, loving community of people that brings her God's joy through every week.
Cannon Randle (he/him)
Staff Advisor
Cannon works in the Office of Annual Giving at James Madison. He is originally from Tallahassee, FL, where he graduated from Florida State University in Spring 2022 with degrees in psychology and philosophy. He loves Canterbury because it's a friendly community where everyone feels welcomed and cared for. In his free time, Cannon enjoys reading, hiking and cycling.

Ryan is a freshman majoring in International Business. He enjoys volunteering, modern art,
and reading about history & politics. You can find him chatting about all kinds of topics over dinner at Canterbury.
Ember Batrla (She/Her)
Hospitality Coordinator
Ember is a sophomore Psychology major with a Criminal Justice minor. She likes line dancing, ice skating, and hanging out with friends. She looks forward to good food and good conversation every Thursday night at dinner.
Will Holland (He/Him)
Rides Coordinator
Will is the Rides Coordinator at Canterbury! He's a Junior English Major studying to be a High School English Teacher one day! He loves playing video games, reading, being with others, and talking about God!
Chloe Sporysz (She/Her)

Chloe is a Nursing Major with a Chronic Illness minor expecting to graduate in Spring 2027. She is also involved with clubs such as Dancing Dukes and BBBS as well. She wants you to know God loves everyone, no exceptions!
